Sheet metal work is manufacturing of finished workpieces from raw sheets in materials such as steel, stainless steel, metal or plastic.
Sheet metal work comprises e.g. turret punching, bending, (bending-off press), sheet cutting, rolling etc. with a high degree of freedom to design a sheet-formed workpiece.
Almost all metallic materials are available as sheets right from ordinary steel to high-refined, stainless spring steel. This also provides a relatively free choice of materials. A sheet-formed workpiece is undoubtedly the type of workpiece allowing the best optimization of both design, construction, materials and execution in relation to function and economy on account of the very high degrees of freedom offered with advanced sheet forming equipment.
