Fixture

Fixture is the designation for a special set-up produced for the specific assignment.
The ”task” of the fixture is to ensure precise manufacture for example in connection with welding of many identical workpieces. Fixtures are for example used for robot welding, and also for other tasks such as manual welding, grinding etc.

Correct manufacture of a fixture is very important to ensure the best quality and economy in connection with serial production of identical workpieces.

GBI (Gl. Bedsted industri A/S) develops and manufactures fixtures itself both for our customers and for use in our own production. By manufacturing our own fixtures, we achieve the right balance between economy and quality in relation to the assignment, i.e. batch size, materials, methods (robot, automatic machine, manual) etc. We have great experience in production of fixtures, and, among other things, we design our fixtures in 3D. In this way, we can allow for space, simulate movements and fittings etc. and therefore we can ensure the scope of application for a fixture already at the design stage.
