Automatic machine welding

Automatic machine welding is the term for performing welding in a machine which either advances the workpiece or the welding torch during welding of the workpiece. The movement can be either circular (circular seam automaton) where the workpiece is turned, or linear (long seam automaton) where typically, but not always, the welding torch is advanced whereas the workpiece is stationary.
Often the automaton is partially integrated with the welding machine, and therefore both amperage, speed of motion and gas supply can be controlled via the automaton.

Automatic machine welding is typically used in production and provides a high, uniform welding quality as compared with manual welding. All types of molten bath welding (TIG, MIG/MAG, plasma) can be performed in an automatic welding machine.

GBI (Gl. Bedsted industri A/S) offers circular seam welding from ø 8 mm to ø 800 mm and long seam welding of workpieces in lengths up to 1.2 m in one workflow. Our automatic welding machines are equipped for application of all welding methods.
